Tigers are carnivores, which means they eat meat almost exclusively. The tiger is not only the largest cat in the family, but it is also the largest carnivorous creature on land.

Tigers have developed into powerful yet silent hunters, with sharp fangs and large paws for pouncing. Tigers typically hunt at night, covering distances of six to twenty kilometres in search of food. They hunt their target silently through the night, closing up on them until they are within 30 feet of them. The tiger makes its final run in for the kill at this close range.
