In a typical deck of cards, there are four kings. Each of the four suits has one king: hearts, diamonds, clubs, and spades.
The king is the highest-ranking face card among the three sorts. Following the king is the queen, followed by the jack. The ace is the highest-ranking card in most games, and the only card higher than a king. A normal deck of cards has 52 cards in total, evenly distributed across the four suits. There are cards for the numbers two through ten in each suit, in addition to the face cards and aces.
