In a deck of cards, how many diamonds are there?

The diamond suit is represented by 13 cards in a regular deck, and there are 87 diamond images in total. Diamond images can be seen in two of the suit’s corners, as well as one diamond on each number card and two diamonds on each face card.

In the 1480s, the four-suit design of playing cards was established in France. By the late 1800s, companies had mass-produced conventional English playing cards with diamonds, hearts, clubs, and spades, which are still used today.

Cups, swords, coins, and rods were the Latin suits on which older cards were based. Hearts, bells, leaves, and acorns appeared on German cards.
