In Bangkok, a student, who was so preoccupied with using her smartphone, fell onto the railway in front of an approaching train at BTS Krung Thonburi this morning, June 25.

According to Coconuts Bangkok, the train had to do an emergency stop after the guards noticed a girl trying to climb out from the tracks. The scene created hysteria in horrified commuters. One witness said the teen was so busy fiddling with her phone that she walked straight towards the tracks and fell.

Fortunately, the girl didn’t obtain major injuries from the fall – aside from a fractured arm, as Skytrain staff performed first aid on her. As for her iPhone, a photo of it lying on the side tracks was captured by a passenger.

This is what happened to a woman in Dezhou, Shandong province in China. Shanghaiist reports that the unnamed woman allegedly tried to kill herself by jumping into a nearby lake because her husband refused to buy the handbag she liked.

The woman was seen floating around the southeast side of Mingyue Lake, according to police reports, and a huge crowd was urging her to come ashore.

One witness told a reporter that the woman had already been in the water for almost 20 minutes. “She’ll get sick if she stays [any longer].”

When the police arrived, they quickly threw her a life preserver, but she declined to hold on to it.

In hopes of rescuing  her, they looked for her husband and when they found him in the crowd, they asked him to comfort his wife.

So did he help her? Well, instead of helping his partner, he only shouted at her to get out of the lake.

Still the woman stayed there. So her husband jumped into the lake but instead of rescuing her, he wrapped his arms around the victim’s neck and pushed her face into the water.

The police officers quickly went into the water to stop the couple.

According to the woman, her husband would always abuse and beat her up at home. She explained that she threatened to commit suicide not only because of the bag but because of all the cruelty she has suffered in his hands.

The insensitive remarks were reported to have taken place during an assembly last Sunday.

This earned the ire of parents who took a trip to the school the next day demanding an explanation.

Around 30 parents also made police reports and notified Kedah Education Department about what happened.

A copy of the complaint letter with full details of the incident also circulated on social media.

A 37-year-old businessman at first did not believe what’s in the letter but two more teachers stood up and confirmed the incident. “How could he ask students to drink their own urine? Is this appropriate?” he said.

Deputy Education Minister II P. Kamalanathan stated in a Facebook post that he has ordered for Kedah Education Department to investigate the matter.

He said that they are awaiting the results of the investigation adding that if the allegations are true, ‘the teacher will be dealt with seriously for breaching the Ministry’s policy.

As many as 16,000 pigs drowned after heavy rainstorms brought flash floods in the villages of Liuye Township in Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, Southwest China last June 16, 2015. The problem not only affects the agricultural industry, but also public health and safety as the rotting carcasses are already emitting a stench.

The incident sparked a massive cleanup procedure as the rivers and land in the area were filled with rotting swine carcasses. Although these animals died of drowning, not disease, these would still become a threat to health in the coming days. Local officials are working extra hard to remove these dead pigs from Huangpu River and Yangtze River before the stench overpowers the villages.

Aside from burying the dead pigs, the locals are also doing their best to sterilize the area.

Most of the pigs came from a pig farm managed by a man named Wang Lin. He said they have evacuation procedures in case of flood and other calamities, but the waters from the flash floods rose so fast that they had no time to evacuate the pigs.

She was walking along a road with her attention focused on her phone, not noticing a metal grill covering a storm drain. Her left leg slipped through the narrow gap between the metal bars and got wedged in firmly, as reported in GB Times.

The unnamed lady was rescued by firefighters that same day of June 14. Using rescue tools, they pressed open the bars until they were able to pull her out.

Luckily for the woman, she only had a numb leg without any serious injuries.

Let this be a reminder for all of us to always keep our eyes on the road, this is not only for drivers but also for pedestrians, else we become victims of unfortunate events like her.

According to Viral Nova, no one knew about the amazing stunt except for Palmer and his best man.

The unidentified assailant then verbally abused the older woman with insults, then slapped her in the face before giving her more slaps on the arm.

Although bystanders tried to calm the young woman down, she just turned and shouted at them.

As the two left, she was seen throwing a large umbrella at the old lady before she wheeled her out of the area.

According to STOMP, the incident is believed to have happened in Hong Kong.

It may sound crazy but one man bravely proposed to his girlfriend using an engagement ring made out of bone from his amputated leg.

It all started in 2006 when Mike Perrett lost his right leg after he fell off a mountain while volunteering for an orphanage in India, as reported by Buzzfeed. His limb was so badly damaged that it was surgically removed. But instead of disposing of the amputated leg, he asked the medical team if he could keep a part of his bone. They gave him a portion of the shin bone.

Five years after the accident, Mike felt he was ready to take his relationship with his long-time girlfriend, Melita, to another level. In order to do that, he needed a special ring to surprise her. So he asked Ingle & Rhode, a jeweler from England, to design an engagement ring and put the pieces of his bone into it.

And the output: An outstanding ring made of platinum with a quarter-carat diamond and studded with a couple of Mike’s bones on each side. Here’s what it looks like:

The bone pieces were completely sterilized when they were incorporated into the ring, says a spokeswoman for Ingle & Rhode.

Melita actually loved her unique ring. She even shared that Mike got the inspiration from a friend who was wearing imitation bone earrings made of plastic.

“I guess why it’s so special to me is because I think it shows his bravely coming to terms with something like that so positively… which has to be a good attribute for marriage,” she expressed.

In November 2011, the couple tied the knot on a beautiful beach in the Philippines. Today, as they enjoy their four years of marriage, they are also expecting their second child.
